The Otterhound Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

The Otterhound is a newsletter published by Otterhound Media LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Thisolicy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information through the newsletter and our website at theotterhound.ai (together, the “Services”). Our newsletter is delivered throughit, an email platform that processes subscriber information on our behalf.

Information we collect

  • Email address, when you subscribe.

  • Optional profile information you choose to provide, such as your name, job title, company, or industry.

  • Engagement data captured by our email platform, such as whether an email was

delivered, opened, or clicked, and your general location inferred from your IP address.

  • Website data, such as pages visited, referring pages, and device and browser

information, collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies used by us and

    our platform providers.

  • Communications, such as the content of emails or replies you send us.

  • Payment information, if we offer paid subscriptions. Payments are handled by our

payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.

Some subscribers joined our list when we acquired the Future Blueprint newsletter from Fintech Blueprint LTD and relaunched it as The Otterhound. For those subscribers, we hold the subscription records transferred to us as part of that acquisition, along with information captured by our platforms from that point forward.

How we use information

  • To send you the newsletter and manage your subscription.

  • To understand engagement and improve our content and Services.

  • To operate sponsorships and advertising in the newsletter. Sponsors receive aggregate

performance data only; we do not give sponsors your email address.

  • To respond to your messages and requests.

  • To protect the security of our Services and prevent fraud or abuse.

  • To comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We share personal information with service providers who run our operations, including our email platform (Kit), website hosting, analytics, and payment providers, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing services to us. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, our users, or others.

If our newsletter business, or part of it, is sold, merged, or transferred, subscriber information may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction, and this policy or the new owner’s policy will continue to apply.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted advertising), as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy laws.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website and emails use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to measure engagement and understand how the Services are used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can turn off image loading in your email client to limit open tracking. Some features may not work properly without cookies.

Our Services do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Where required by law, we treat Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We keep subscriber information while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your email address is retained on our suppression list so we do not email you again, and related records are kept only as long as needed for legal and operational purposes.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. We process unsubscribe requests promptly and within the time required by law. You can also contact us to update or correct your information.

Your state privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with consumer privacy laws), and subject to legal thresholds and exceptions, you may have

the right to:

  • Know about and access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate personal information.

  • Delete your personal information.

  • Receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format.

  • Opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain profiling.

  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To exercise these rights, email us at hello@otterhoundmedia.com. We will verify your request, typically by confirming you control the email address associated with your subscription, and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of that authorization. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; if your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.

California residents. In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as email address and name); professional information (such as job title and company); internet or other electronic network activity (such as email engagement and website usage); and approximate geolocation inferred from IP address. We collect this information from you, from our platform providers, and, for former Future Blueprint subscribers, from the prior publisher as part of our acquisition. We use it for the purposes described above and disclose it to service providers for business purposes. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, you may ask whether we disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing; we do not.

Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and personal information is stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. If the laws where you live give you additional rights, contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children

The newsletter is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its date. If we make material changes, we will notify subscribers by email or through a notice on our website.
